The following is a prayer to God, requesting peace as we go through this Coronavirus pandemic.
Whenever you have fears and anxieties pop up during this difficult season, I encourage you to enter into God’s presence and wrestle through your thoughts and emotions.
Whatever you think and feel: be honest with God.
Set your mind on the faithfulness of God and allow His word to remind your soul: God’s in control and we have nothing to fear.
Father,
Guard our hearts and minds. For our thoughts and feelings are unreliable.
During times like these when our circumstances take a turn for the worse and we’re faced with uncertainty, it can feel like we are slaves to fear.
Our minds crush our spirits with anxious thoughts that jump to worst case scenarios.
But Father, help us remember you did not give us a spirit of slavery (Romans 8:15): you gave us a Spirit of POWER and LOVE.
You gave us a Spirit that allows us to exercise SELF-CONTROL over our minds and emotions: and that includes fear. (2 Timothy 1:7 paraphrase)
Lord, you know the exact situation each of us is in right now.
You know our individual needs.
You know our specific doubts, fears, and anxieties.
You know the unique hardships each of us is up against. (Psalm 139:1-4 paraphrase)
Father, as we’re faced with uncertainty in the days ahead, cast out our fears with Your love. (1 John 4:18)
We crave comfort and we long for certainty.
May we remember to fulfill these needs from you: the only true and lasting Source of comfort.
You provide peace that can be found, even amongst uncertainty.
welcome
